Home made Soft Pretzels

Have you ever been to an auntie annes and wondered how they get there pretzels so good, well its because they are made in a factory, but you can make soft pretzels on your own and can will taste even better

Ingrediants 2 ¼ teaspoons yeast, 1.5 cups of warm water, 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon butter 1.5 teaspoons of salt, and 7 cups of flour, rock salt or cinnamon sugar for top (I recommend cinnamon sugar)

baking soda bath: you want ½ of baking soda and 9 cups of water

mix together the warm water, yeast, salt and sugar and have it sit for 2 minutes, add in the melted butter and 3 cups of flour and mix together until combined. if the dough is still very sticky add more flour until the dough comes off the side of the bowl.

Knead the dough for around five minute and form it into a ball. cover with a towel and let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes to rise.

the dough is ready take it out and cut it up depending on how big you want your pretzel to be. An average size one is around 1/3 cup of dough. form the dough into either a pretzel knot or into a stick depending one how you want to eat it. I would recommend the stick method because it is easier to boil and a lot easier to eat.

combine the baking soda and water and put into pot and bring it to a boil. place each piece of dough into the water for 20-30 seconds and set the oven for 400 degrees.

Put the pretzels on a pan with parchment paper and if you are doing salty pretzels, add the rock salt on top. bake for 15-20 minute or until a dark golden brown. Let Coll and if doing cinnamon sugar add on top.

This recipe can look complicated at first, but once the dough is ready it’s nearly a process of boiling and baking and the final results are totally worth it. if you have any suggestion please message me and I love to see anyones result.
