Tres Leches
Ingrediants:
Cake: 2 cups flour, ¾ teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 6 large eggs, 1 ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of whole milk, 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Milk mix: 14 ounce sweetened condensed milk, 12 ounces of evaporated milk, and 2/3 cup whole milk
frosting: 2 cups heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
whisk together flour, baking powder and salt, separate all the eggs yolks and whites into separate bowls. beat the egg whites while slowly adding in ¾ cup of sugar. continue mixing until in a very thick form (around 3 minutes). add a cup of sugar to egg yolks and beat until pale and fluffy (around 1 minute). beat the milk and vanilla into egg yolk and then pour into flour mixture.
Fold in the egg whites into the flour mixture until fully combined. Then pour batter into cake pan.
set oven to 350 degrees and put cake pan in for 25-30 minute (the thinner the cake the less time it needs to bake)(always check with toothpick or fork if ready
take out and let rest until slightly warm (30 minutes)
combine everything from the milk mix together and then slowly pour it onto cake. let the cake rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour
frosting: mixture together heavy cream and powdered sugar in electric mixer until combined and very thick.
take cake out cut it how you want it to be shaped shmear frosting all around it and enjoy(if you want to add fruit around it, I would highly recommend it).
